Gate of the Dead
Description
Gate of the Dead is one of the main gates among Angkor Thom. While you were on the east gate of Angkor Thom, head south down the dirt road. Then you will arrive Gate of the Dead which is not many things to see but a good history of it. Gate of the dead was built King Jayavarman VII in the late 12th century as part of the reconstruction of the city, following the victory over the Cham enemy army in 1181AD, by the way On the east side of Angkor Thom, the Victory Gate is what traveler will likely see, but head down a dirt road to the south, and at the T junction, the traveler will see the Gate Of The Dead to the left.
