Bousra Waterfall

Description

Bousra Waterfall is the attractive place for viting in Moudulkiri Province the north of Cambodia,The waterfalls itself are nice and very strong when we were there. Bousra waterfall is the largest and the most beautiful waterfall in Mondulkiri, which is located in Pech Chreada District, 43 kilometers from Sen Monorom. It takes about 1 hour to travel from Sen Monorom on the red soil road. For transportation, you can rent motorcycle (for about $15) if you don’t have your own transportation and it costs 5,000 to 10,000 riels admission for the developed touristic part of the waterfall. Bousra waterfall is so big that it is divided into three stages:

First stage: the waterfall is a 15m wide and has a height of 15-20m during the dry season, and a 20m wide and 18-25m high in the rainy season. At the bottom of the first-stage waterfall is a nice and safe place that you can go swimming and have a picnic. And there are some local vendors selling food, fruit, handmade children’s clothing, huts and mats for visitors to rent for their picnic (you could bring along your own picnic). You can also enjoy dress up as Bunong ethnic minority and take some photos along with the fantastic view of the first-stage waterfall.

Second stage: the waterfall lies 150 meters from the first-stage waterfall. During the dry season the second-stage waterfall is 23m wide and 15-20m high, and it is 20m wide and 18-25m high during the rainy season.

Third stage: the third-stage waterfall is more powerful than the two previous stages, it cannot be reached because it got no path to travel there and there are dangerous wildlife in that area.

At Bousra waterfall, you can not only enjoy the waterfall but you can also go for a zipline across the waterfall with the length of 300m and 100m height over the falls. Moreover, you also can have a picnic along side of the waterfall with the local food and buy some craft as souvenir sold by local vendors. Bousra waterfall is a must-visit place when you go to Mondulkiri.

Traveling to Bousra Waterfall Sen Monorom

For transportation to traveling there, All of the people have a two options to choose : 1. Can rent motorcycle $5-9 (rent and go there on your own). 2. Rental Private tuk-tuk around $25 (he waits you all day). For entrance fee costs 1.25$ (5,000Riel) or 2.5$ (10,000 reil ) admission for the developed touristic part of the waterfall.
