How to Get There
Rong Lmung Temple is located in Siem Reap Province, near the northwest side of Phnom Bakheng temple in the Angkor Archaeological Park. From Siem Reap city, visitors can reach the temple by tuk-tuk or taxi in about 20–30 minutes. The temple is situated alongside the road leading to Phnom Bakheng, making it accessible by a short walk from the main road.
Things to Do
Visitors can explore two small brick temples aligned north-south, featuring sandstone doorways and lintels with carvings such as Indra on Airavata. The south tower stands on a high brick base, while the north tower is mostly a mound of bricks. The site offers a quiet atmosphere for appreciating early Khmer architecture dating back to the 9th century and photography of its intricate details.
Best Times to Visit
The best time to visit Rong Lmung Temple is during the dry season from November to April when the weather is cooler and more comfortable for walking. Early mornings are ideal to avoid crowds and enjoy soft natural light on the temple’s carvings.

Rong Lmung Temple is part of the Angkor Archaeological Park and included with the general park pass. It is less visited than major temples, providing a peaceful experience. Facilities are minimal, so visitors should bring water and sun protection. The temple is believed to have been built by King Jayavarman III, who was known for his passion for hunting.
